The Simple life

I think some of the greatest gifts are the simple ones.
When I get the opportunity to sit outside on my little to enjoy that first cup of tea, I feel so content. I am surrounded by plants, dogs, and sunshine.

I hope your day is off to a good start, too. 😊

Sunshine is Calling

The wait is over

And it was worth it.

When We Wait

This is the only orchid I own.  I bought it at Home Depot about a year ago for $9.  Mostly because of its miniature size and striking magenta color.

One by one, the petals fell until there was nothing but tentacles and waxy leaves.  I didn’t know what to do.  I kept it moist, left it on my windowsill, and waited.

And then a crazy thing happened. Tiny green buds began to appear.  Now, almost a year later it’s almost ready to burst.

So is my heart.

Breakfast of Champions

Never in a million years would I have thought that I could fall for a rat.

I have.

Meet Charlie.  Rat extraordinaire, Lover of Fruit Loops.

Injured Hope

It fell off the top of my lockers. I am not optimistic about its recovery, but one must never give up on hope. Without it, we have no chance.

A clean break.

Calls for silver glitter glue.

Glitter captures light and shares it with the world.

The crack stays.

“There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”

-Leonard Cohen

Pastel Pinecones

Nature is always an inspiration for color, but I didn’t know the baby pine cones had some pastel pinks bursting through their tips.

It never gets old.
