Wisdom from Madeline L’Engle

“The great thing about getting older is that you don’t lose all the other ages you’ve been.”

-Madeline L’Engle

I saw this quote this morning and had to comment.

So often we think (or maybe I think) it’s all about now or tomorrow.  Not yesterday.   But along the way, we’ve scraped our knees, cleaned up the abrasion and gotten on with life.  And somehow, in the midst of that pain (or pleasure), we’ve learned a thing or two about what we’re capable of being or losing.

I like this quote because it’s a good reminder  that all that came before this moment gives me this moment.

It’s not lost.  It’s embedded.

Thank you, Madeline. 🙂
