My Mailbox Makeover: “Orange Is the New Black”

It feels awfully good to be the rebel sometimes.  Even if I happen upon it accidentally.  I was quite prepared to use the only color approved for my mailbox flag (red), but the spray nozzle was clogged.  What’s a girl to do?

IMG_6863.jpgWell, this is October and Halloween is upon us….so I threw caution to the wind and used the orange spray paint from Lowe’s . I know, I’m a serious rebel.

Oh dear, what will the HOA (Home Owners Association) police say?  I’m actually kind of curious about it.  I would frame the letter they might send.

But how cool does orange and black look now? IMG 6859

I love how crisp and clean it looks.  I used Sherwin Williams this time: “6258 Tricorn Black” and “7661 Reflection Extra White” for the base.

This is why I painted it:

Again, embarrassed.  You can even see the black spray paint on the white part.  That’s right.  I didn’t even use painter’s tape.

So ashamed.

Not anymore.  My mail box has some curb appeal now.

Some mums and pebbles from Lowe’s and I’m all set.

A neighbor drove by and asked if I could spruce up her mailbox.  I do live in the land of black mailboxes…
