Say hello to Kanaloa, the ancient Polynesian God of Eternal Hope.
I found him at a local antique store this fall for about $2. He’s made entirely of Hapa-wood, which is actually plastic.
I purchased him because I love the message that I found on his back:
And those emerald green eyes.
His brother is for sale on E-bay in the neighboring town of Chapel Hill.
Starting bid is $9.99. I should buy it and send it to President Obama. He probably already has one though.
Hmm…do you think Kanaloa inspired Obama’s message of “Hope” during his first presidential campaign?
I’ll ask when I send the statue.
